A lot of builders who work on custom home development projects purchase materials from big stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. There are some custom home builders who purchase the materials from local suppliers. There is always this argument among builders on which is the best approach of purchase of materials for construction.
Some builders argue vehemently in favor of the big stores such as Home Depot saying that the materials procured from such stores are better in quality even though they may be on the expensive side. They say that they can trust the materials bought from such stores and their customer support is good. There are other custom home builders who say that such big stores are overrated. They say that materials purchased from big stores are unnecessarily expensive and don’t offer anything different in terms of quality. There is always a division among builders when it comes to this topic. To be honest, there is no right or wrong approach when it comes to purchase of raw materials for the construction of luxury custom homes or any kind of home for that matter. Both the approaches have their own merits and demerits. It ultimately depends on what works best for the builder and the homeowner.
